I’m very proud that our company supports ambitious climate policy and has made significant investments in sustainability. That’s why I’m asking Microsoft to leave the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and lead on climate policy.
Serving on the Chamber’s board of directors undermines our company’s pro-climate reputation, given its opposition to key policies like the Inflation Reduction Act and the EPA’s proposed limits on methane and power plant emissions. The Chamber even supported the Willow Project, which if completed would release 9.2 million metric tons of carbon pollution into the atmosphere each year. If we remain, and don’t distance our company from these actions, Microsoft will be complicit in this obstruction.
